Originally from Barnsley, Kevin moved to London in 1981 and has been a professional photographer for over 22 years. Starting as a commercial photographer, Kevin veered into shooting music in the 90‘s and during this time has shot most of the biggest Rock and Metal acts on the planet from the Rolling Stones to Slipknot. His music portraits and live shots have been featured in magazines around the world and he shoots extensively for Classic Rock, Metal Hammer, Prog Rock, Total Guitar and Rhythm magazines. His work is also distributed via Future Publishing and Getty Images.
Whether shooting Rock, Metal, Pop, Indie or Prog, Kevin manages to capture the essence of the moment, his classic images have a raw energy and intensity that illustrates the excitement of a live gig. Kevin is passionate about music photography and he is more than happy to shoot bands in a photo studio as well as getting mud on his boots standing in the pit at large festivals.
Whilst the constraints of the editorial world usually demand colour images, Kevin prefers to see his work in monochrome as he feels it provides a more timeless and evocative medium to capture a rock legend. His one great regret is never having shot David Bowie, and he is keeping his fingers crossed on that one.
